Abstract:

In the past, the main concern was increasing the network throughput and expanding the coverage to increase the capacity in cellular networks. These days, green operation plays a vital role in wireless networks, and operators want to maintain their profit margin and decrease their impact on the
environment. This trend of obtaining energy efficient wireless networks causes a huge motivation among researchers and operators to continuously expand their knowledge and to explore
new technologies and methods for reducing energy consumption in the whole network infrastructure. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that not only reduces the power consumption in the network, but also improves the mean throughput in the network. We will show that how inter-cell interference and the amount of allocated power to each user equipment can affect the system performance and how we tackle these problems.
